What is Running Scared?
Running Scared is a community charity event in support of Diabetes Canada! There is a 1km family fun run, a 5km trail run and a 10km trail run with prizes, great vendors and Halloween themed fun!
Where is Running Scared taking place?
Running Scared starts and finishes at Capital Funeral Homes located at 3700 Prince of Wales Drive in Barrhaven.
What is a ‘trail run’?
A trail run means that not the entire duration of the event will occur on paved roads – there will be some uneven terrain through parks and wooded areas.
What should we wear?
Dress warm – October weather can be unpredictable, and dress up in your best Halloween costume or attire for a chance to win a prize!
How do I pick up my runner kit and bib?
Kits and bibs will be available at pre-designated times and locations leading up the event – check out our page to find a time that works for you and arrange to pick it up prior to the event date – and YES, someone can pick It up on your behalf!
What’s the family fun run?
The family fun run is a great way to get the whole family out in support of a great cause! Walk, run, jump, skip or zombie walk the 1km trail and pick up some treats along the way! Strollers are permitted!
Is the run timed?
YES! The 5km and 10km event are timed – you will receive a race bib and race results will be available a few days following the event on our website.
Can spectators attend?
Yes! We encourage spectators to come out and cheer on our runners. There will also be some vendors at the event with awesome giveaways!
Is there parking available?
There is plenty of FREE parking available on-site, as well as a pick up and drop off location.
